Recently, oil prices have risen sharply due to the Iran war. This is because war is taking place in the area where oil is produced. Even though many countries have focused on developing renewable energy facilities, many countries depend on fossil fuels such as natural gas and oil. Heavy investment in renewable energy has lowered its prices. In some countries, renewable energy is much cheaper than fossil fuels. However, these clean energies are subject to intermittency and storage limitations. Starting from intermittency, solar and wind power are not available 24/7. Solar requires sunlight, while wind turbines need enough wind, making them unreliable. Then there is a storage issue. Renewable energy can generate large amounts of energy quickly. However, storing large amounts of electricity for long periods is currently cost-prohibitive, often resulting in energy waste when demand is low. If these issues are solved, renewable energy will be a more sustainable option.
